Dermaplaning is normally completed within 20-30 minutes depending on the required treatment and anatomical site. Before starting your treatment, make sure all your makeup is removed. We will prep the skin by applying a face cleanser and massaging it onto the skin. Washing the skin will also help remove oils or any buildup of dead skin debris. Next, a #10 blade will be used to gently scrape areas on the forehead, cheeks, side of the face, chin and jawline. Your aesthetician may recommend a very light chemical peel following the Dermaplaning procedure. Dermaplaning is a non-invasive treatment and provides for minimal social downtime. It is normal to see small nicks or cuts. Mild redness of the skin may appear; however, this will eventually heal almost immediately.
Your aesthetician will give you post-treatment instructions and it is important that you follow the aftercare treatment plan. You will be sensitive to ultraviolet light and you must avoid direct sun exposure until completely healed. Fully cover your treated skin or use a good sunscreen 1 day after your treatment whenever you go outdoors.
